Man dies of accidental gunshot when hunting

PLAINVILLE, ILL. —  A rural Quincy man was found dead at the edge of a timber woods east of Plainville Monday afternoon of an apparent accidental gunshot wound.

Bill Cramsey, 69, had left his Burton area home early Monday morning to go turkey hunting and when he did not return home his wife, Marcia, became concerned.

Cramsey, a retired Gardner Denver employee and father of five, was found by a family friend Monday afternoon and pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m. by Adams County Deputy Coroner Jim Keller.

Keller said it appeared Cramsey had been sitting down and attempted to get up and when the shotgun discharged.

The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
