Peaksville Christian Church in Peaksville, Mo., was the setting for the March 15 wedding of Starla D. McDermott and John E. Shaffer, both of Kahoka, Mo.

The bride is a daughter of Jeff and Reva Brunk of Revere, Mo., and Butch and Anita Murphy of LaBelle, Mo. The bridegroom is a son of Larry and Carolyn Shaffer of Kahoka.

The bride was given in marriage by her stepfather, Jeff Brunk, during the 5 p.m. ceremony conducted by the Rev. Shawn McAfee. Music was provided by Darrin Howell, pianist, and Jared McAfee, soloist.

Maid of honor was Heather Bradley of Kahoka. Bridesmaids were Laura Stice and Shana Wyrick, sisters of the bride. Junior bride was Camryn Stice, niece of the bride.

Best man was R.K. Bradley of Kahoka. Groomsmen were John Bevans and Darin Boatman.

Ushers were Truman McDermott, son of the bride, and Scott Shaffer and Bryce Shaffer, sons of the bridegroom.

Flower girl was Abygail Ellison, niece of the bridegroom, and ring bearer was Gavin Scott, nephew of the bride.

A rehearsal dinner was held March 14 in Steve's Family Dining. A reception began at 6:30 p.m. in the Kahoka Moose Lodge.

The bride graduated from Canton R-5 High School in 1987.

The bridegroom graduated from Clark County R-1 High School in 1988.
