Miss Shayne Christine Lohmeyer and David Michael Appel II were united in marriage Feb. 23 in Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ.
The bride is a daughter of Richard and Cindy Lohmeyer of Ursa. The bridegroom is a son of David and Denise Appel of Keokuk, Iowa.
Mr. Lohmeyer gave his daughter in marriage during the 5 p.m. ceremony conducted by the Rev. Wanda Seydel. Music was provided by the Quincy Symphony Orchestra. Brenda Robinson, aunt of the bride, was reader.
Bridesmatrons were Christal Lohmeyer, sister-in-law of the bride; Shannen Woodside, sister of the bride; and Natasha Wilson and Denael Dray, sisters of the bridegroom.
Groomsmen were Shaun Lohmeyer, brother of the bride; Brent Woodside, brother-in-law of the bride; and Eric Wilson and Steven Dray, brothers-in-law of the bridegroom.
Ushers were Curtis Robinson and Christopher Robinson, cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Makenna Lohmeyer, niece of the bride.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the bridegroom in Tiramisu. A reception immediately followed the ceremony in the State Room.
The newlyweds are at home in Quincy after honeymooning in Chicago.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Quincy High School. She earned an associate's degree in applied science from John Wood Community College and a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Appel is the branch manager for Sun Loan Co.
The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Keokuk High School and attended John Wood Community College. He is a district sales manager for The Quincy Herald-Whig.
Bridal showers were hosted by the bride's mother in Victorian Grace Mansion and by the bridegroom's sisters at the Keokuk Country Club.
