WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING

Some John Wood Community College students ages 18 and 19 recently filled out a survey regarding the economy. Here are some responses:

"We usually do movie night on Saturdays. Since the rise we've cut out those nights."

"I haven't changed my driving habits but I don't go out to eat or shop as much so I can pay for gas."

"I don't go out with my friends anymore, I have to watch how much I drive. I can't afford to go out with my boyfriend ... I can't buy lunch at school or fast food, I have to go home and make it, but I can't afford groceries."

"I purchase more generic products."

"The only place I can afford to drive is school. I don't buy personal gifts for myself anymore and I don't buy near as much junk food."

"I am getting a moped."

"I used to buy name brand clothes whenever I saw something I wanted, but now I watch what I spend my money on."
