Lloyd and Virginia Starr of Nauvoo will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. May 3 in Nauvoo Methodist Church Friendship Hall in Nauvoo. Their children will host the event. Family and friends are invited.

Mr. Starr and the former Virginia Elkins were married Dec. 30, 1957, in Bee Ridge Methodist Church in Edina, Mo.

Mrs. Starr is a daughter of Russell and Bess Elkins of Knox City, Mo. Mr. Starr is a son of Cleophus and Florence Starr of Hamilton.

They are the parents of Jean Starr, Keith Starr and his wife, Joanne, Linda Starr and Martha Starr Miller and her husband, Neal. They have three grandchildren.

Mr. Starr retired from Starr's Garage.

Mrs. Starr retired from the Nauvoo Colusa School District as a school nurse, Fort Madison Health Care Center and Keokuk (Iowa) Area Hospital skilled care unit.

They are members of the Methodist church.
