The parents of Sondra Kay Miller and Adam Shawn Vahle have announced the couple's engagement. She is a daughter of Donald and Barbara Miller of Mount Sterling. He is a son of Gene and Sheryl Henderson and Michael Vahle of Quincy.

The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Brown County High School and a 2005 graduate of Culver-Stockton College and Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing. She was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Miss Miller is a registered nurse in Blessing Hospital's emergency department.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Quincy High School and is a security officer at Blessing Hospital.

The couple plans a Sept. 27 wedding in First Southern Baptist Church in Beardstown.
