Katherine Denise VanDever and Cory Gene Kessler, both of Payson, have announced their engagement. A June 28 wedding is planned in All Saints Catholic Church in Keokuk, Iowa.

The bride-elect is a daughter of the late Richard VanDever and Sheila VanDever of Keokuk. She graduated in 2002 from Central Lee High School and attends John Wood Community College, majoring in early childhood education. Miss VanDever is employed by Waldenbooks.

The prospective bridegroom is a son of Cindy Kessler of Payson and Dennis Kessler of Lewistown, Mo. He graduated from Truman State University with a bachelor of science degree in sociology/anthropology in May 2007 and will receive a master of arts degree in elementary education in May.
