Mark Twain flooding facts

n The normal summer operating pool of Mark Twain Lake is 606 feet. The pool level rose as high as 640.36 feet last year.

n The Corps' normal release of water from the dam is 12,000 cubic feet per second. At one point last summer, the Corps was releasing 54,000 cubic feet per second.

n Cost estimates of damage due flooding upstream and downstream from Mark Twain Lake and nearby areas is expected to be more than $5 million.
