Sullivan took right to vote away by voting against recall

To The Herald-Whig:

Thank you, Senator John Sullivan, for taking away my right to vote on an issue that was important to me and my family. Why were you and your fellow Democrats so worried as to how we, the people of Illinois would vote?

Rather than ask us what we thought on the issue of recall for elected officials, you elected officials decided that we had no right to vote on that issue.

Illinois politics is an embarrassment to its people thanks to the governor and senators like you.

You said that we already have a recall plan that is called election. However, election is for four years and if you do not do the job we elected you to, then the recall plan is important. Why should we wait for four years to put up with bad government?

You have made up my mind as to how I will vote for you or not. I called your office and asked you to vote in favor of it, as did many others.

I want someone in office that will allow the people of Illinois the opportunity to speak to their elected officials through the voting process.

You and your fellow Democrats took that away.

Shame on you and them.
