Welsh - Rieke

Nathan Welsh and Elizabeth Rieke, both of Champaign, were married Jan. 12, 2008, in New Covenant Fellowship in Champaign.

The bride is a daughter of Arthur and Karen Rieke of Herscher. The bridegroom is a son of Anthony and DonnaSue Welsh of Liberty.

Jim Linder conducted the 3:30 p.m. ceremony. Chet Brandon and Susan Griswold were readers. Music was provided by the bridal couple's small group from New Covenant Fellowship, including Nathan Todd, pianist; Nic Dillon, guitarist; Kristin Tennant, Josue Atibalentja, Emily Wisseman, Joshua Canada, Jeff Trask, Nic Dillon, Heather Dillon, Eric Beckley, Alyssa Canada and Tisa Trask, vocalists; and Melissa Milanak, soloist.

Matron of honor was Jennifer Brandon. Bridesmaids were Laura Kimmel, Sarah Hedgespeth, Laura Cooper, Heidi Zink, Jennie Hill and Diane Rieke.

Best man was Ed Brigman. Groomsmen were Steve Taylor, Patrick Morphew, Kevin Farrell, Karlos Hill and Charles Rieke.

A rehearsal dinner was held Jan. 11 in the church. A dinner-reception immediately followed the ceremony in the Laborer's Hall in Urbana. A morning brunch was held Jan. 13, hosted by the bride's aunt, Kathryn Hershberger in Mahomet.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Herscher High School, a 2004 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in sociology and a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois with a master's degree in social work. Mrs. Welsh is a medical social worker for Carle Home Health Services in Champaign.

The bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of Quincy High School, a 2002 graduate of Lincoln College with an associate of science degree, and a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. Mr. Welsh is employed by Central Illinois Produce in Champaign.

The bride was honored with a shower, hosted by the bridegroom's aunt, Mary Lou Welsh, and grandmother, Ellen Kipley, in Quincy; a shower hosted by family neighbors and lifetime friends, Jeanette Elliott and Karen Hoffman, in Mrs. Elliott's home in Liberty; a shower hosted by the bride's aunts, in the home of her aunt, Molly Turner, in Dwight; and a shower hosted by co-workers and friends, in the home of Rita Vanier in Champaign.
