Walking tour brochures available at QSFA
The bright spring weather and warmer days makes this a great time to take a walking tour of several Quincy neighborhoods.
Free walking tour brochures for Quincy's historic districts are available at the Quincy Society of Fine Arts office at 300 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 244, courtesy of the Gardner Museum of Architecture and Design.
Designed to use for a leisurely stroll through some of Quincy's oldest and most interesting neighborhoods, these brochures list the address, architectural style and architect, if known, of buildings in the area. Also included is a map for easy reference.
Currently, there are five different tours that walkers can take -- each showing the importance of Quincy's architecture in different areas.
The following brochures are available:
* Lawndale (in Quincy's East End Historic District)
* Park Place (in Quincy's East End Historic District)
* Quincy's Historic North Side
* Quincy's Historic Downtown
* Quincy's Historic Maine Street
This service is made possible by the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency, and the business and individual members of the QSFA and the city of Quincy.
The Quincy Society of Fine Arts' national award-winning programs strengthen education, expand local economy and insure cost-effective arts programs and services for everyone.
