Blake Toppmeyer - Quincy Herald-Whig | Illinois & Missouri News, Sports

Blake Toppmeyer joined The Herald-Whig in August 2010. His primary responsibilities are coverage of the Quincy Notre Dame boys and girls basketball teams, Quincy High School football team, high school volleyball and high school softball.

A native of Virden, Ill., Toppmeyer graduated from Truman State in May 2010 with a degree in Communication: Journalism. Prior to joining the Herald-Whig, Toppmeyer served a brief stint as sports editor of the Maryville (Mo.) Daily Forum. He also worked four years for Truman's college newspaper, the Index, which the College Media Advisers named the nation's best non-daily college newspaper for 2009-10 when Toppmeyer was Editor in Chief.

In his spare time, Toppmeyer enjoys playing golf and listening to his beloved Florida Marlins on MLB Audio.
