Matt Hopf has been a staff reporter at The Herald-Whig since June 2010. He covers Quincy and Adams County government. Matt received a master's degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield. He also received a bachelor's degree in journalism from Eastern Illinois
University. Before coming to Quincy, Matt interned as a state government reporter in Springfield with the GateHouse Media State Capital Bureau. A Palos Heights native, Matt has also interned at newspapers in Palos Heights and Tinley Park.
