To The Herald-Whig:
Where to turn to when you've been given the worst news ever?
My husband Bill was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer and it turned our family's life upside down. Our daughter and my sister then said "lets have a benefit and maybe help with some expenses." We said that is too much work, from there the plans just took off. We had the best committee working to help us. I could go on and on about the wonderful committee for Bill's Benefit, that handled planning and organizing. I would love to mention all of them but don't want to hurt anyone's feelings if I would forget to mention someone.
To all that called and wanted to help in some way or to donate, the effort was simply amazing and our family wishes to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We both are very fortunate to work for great businesses. We wish to thank the Awerkamp Machine Co., family, the Walmart family and family at Sunset. Your understanding and concerns and support are helping us through this difficult time we are facing.
To our friends and family who either bought or sold raffle tickets, donated an item, or just came to support us, we simply appreciate your kindness.
Bill and I were simply amazed by the outpouring of support from family and friends. To all who donated items and their time, our wish to all of you is health and happiness -- it's priceless.
