To The Herald-Whig:
In response to the front page article "Choice Option Imposed on Berrian," I wish to write in support of Berrian School.
My two little girls attend first grade at Berrian -- one because she is in special education there, and one because we choose to send her to the same school as her sister. Although we could afford any private school in town and actually live in Monroe district, we choose to send our girls to Berrian because they get a wonderful education there.
Their teachers are very attentive and caring and have done a terrific job with both of them. The girls honestly love going to school and doing their homework. All of the staff seem to genuinely care about them and about their education. Their principal last year, Jill Reis, was just excellent, and I expect the same of the new principal.
When we were offered the option to move our kids, we decided against it. We wholeheartedly support Berrian and would encourage all parents to get involved in their kids' education and to work with the teachers and the schools so that all kids get the best possible learning experiences.
