To The Herald-Whig:

I'm a junior at Quincy Senior High, and a member of the QHS Marching Blue Devils.

The band recently practiced on the new field at Flinn Stadium and it looks incredible. It's amazing to think that so many people have put their time and effort into this field for the students at QHS. All of the hard work of many individuals and businesses have shown the students at QHS how much you care. The field is amazing, and it brings me so much Quincy pride to have the honor to march on it.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the QPS School Board, QPS Foundation, Quincy University, and the many other Quincy businesses and individuals for contributing money to our new field turf. Thank you for investing your money and interest in the students at QHS.

I can't even put into words how excited I am to march on the field for our first soccer and football games this week. I know that I can speak for each of the football and soccer teams, and the Marching Blue Devils, that we all appreciate what it took to make this field happen.
