To The Herald Whig:

The Birthright fund-raiser recently held at the K of C Barbecue was a complete success thanks to all the caring people from the community, local churches and businesses who donated so generously.

Since Birthright is a crisis pregnancy agency that operates solely from donations, it is with deep appreciation from all the volunteers and clients served that we say "thank you!"

We would first recognize the Knights of Columbus for its continued generous support and VIP treatment received during the four-day event. Their encouragement has really meant a lot to us all as we continue our mission of service to the community.

Overwhelming was the variety and volume of homemade baked goods that decorated our booth all four days of the event. Signature dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, coffee cakes, pies, cookies, brownies and the list goes on from the "best cooks" in the country kept our booth a constant buzz of eager customers hoping for their favorite treat. In such a fast-paced society, to actually be able to enjoy something homemade is such a tremendous blessing. We are very grateful to all the dedicated bakers from 10 local churches who donated these delicious treats. Sure would like those recipes!

A big thanks also to the four businesses who so generously donated candy for our game booth, it was quite a hit with the kids from the community as well. Our "Dining Out" package donated by nine different restaurants was won by Donna Lane and our beautiful hand-made quilt donated by two ladies from our community was won by Chris and Jamie Rondett. Congratulations!
