Adam and Carol Wurtz should be thanked for Kroc Center support

To The Herald-Whig:

The new Kroc Center is open and such a beautiful facility. It brings hope and a more bright future to Quincy now and for the future. But it seems in all the celebrating two people have been forgotten. Those two people are Majs. Adam and Carol Wurtz. They spent endless hours traveling, speaking and working to get Quincy the grant to build the Kroc Center.

Let's never forget who is really deserving of the credit for making the Salvation Army and Kroc Center what it is today.

They may have been forgotten by the news media, but not by the people who loved them and miss their influence on our community.

Therapy dog knows just what Baldwin students need
Cooper heads down the hallway in Baldwin West for another day of school. He's focused. He's friendly. He's furry. Cooper, a golden doodle, is teacher Erin Armbruster's trained therapy dog, and his pawprints reach beyond just her classroom. "He helps out the students. He's a very good dog," fifth-grader Myles Cain said.
