Political left should be called to account for slams against tea party

To The Herald-Whig:

Recently, we witnessed several prominent people smearing the tea party members for having the audacity to hold a differing opinion than their progressive counterparts. They call them horrible names, express a desire for them to be banished to Hades, coax union supporters to "Take (the tea party members) out," they make ridiculously extreme and wildly inaccurate claims about their alleged positions on issues, and accuse them of being racists, homophobes; all manner of untrue descriptions.

Why is it that those prominent liberals are not held to answer for their words or actions? How can President Barack Obama, in January, pound on a podium and demand civility in the discourse, and then turn a blind eye to Maxine Waters or Jimmy Hoffa Jr.? The answer, of course, is the blatant hypocrisy of the left. The willing mainstream media will continue to ignore it and we will continue to be rendered a disservice by the so-called "Fourth Estate." When will it truly be "enough is enough?"
