
To The Herald-Whig:
When I was in grade school about 80 years ago, the nuns used to tell us to "offer it up for the poor souls." I brushed it off then, but now I'm thinking maybe they were on to something.
Picture this. Imagine all the people suffering losses from tornadoes and floods, and all the people with aches and pains in nursing homes and hospitals. Now, imagine all those people, each person, every day offering it up. Wow.
There'd be a regular stampede of poor souls going through the gate of Heaven.
Hmmmm.
Come to think of it. That's what Jesus did.
