To The Herald-Whig:

I read an article in the Quincy Herald-Whig paper Oct. 13 about your opinion about Jacksonville Developmental Center. We have a son that lives there and has for some time. We would like to know where these people are going if the center closes. A lot of these people cannot make it on their own and cannot be moved to a group home.

We have sent letters to the governor and our family and friends have too. Some of these people cannot handle changes very good, so it would be hard on them.

The people that work at the center do a good job of taking care of these people. They also have a lot of patience. So we hope they do not close this center and the other ones.
