To The Herald-Whig:

I want to thank you for partnering with the Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County to publish stories about historical events and people of Quincy and Adams County in your Sunday editions of The Quincy Herald-Whig.

I enjoyed the interesting history columns that Carl Landrum wrote for the newspaper for 40 years before his death.

And now, each week the stories are written by scholars, students, local history buffs and members of the HSQAC and I hope other readers are finding these stories as entertaining and enjoyable as I do.

Therapy dog knows just what Baldwin students need
Cooper heads down the hallway in Baldwin West for another day of school. He's focused. He's friendly. He's furry. Cooper, a golden doodle, is teacher Erin Armbruster's trained therapy dog, and his pawprints reach beyond just her classroom. "He helps out the students. He's a very good dog," fifth-grader Myles Cain said.
