    The Quincy Exchange Club, sponsor of the 62nd annual Golden Deeds Award, is accepting nominations through April 11, 2014. The annual award honors a Quincyan for valuable and selfless service to the community. Nominees can be well-known community leaders or those who have worked out of the spotlight to improve life for others.

    The Quincy School Board will meet in special session at 4 p.m. Monday to discuss whether it should seek the services of a construction manager to oversee the district's $89 million building project. The Hannibal, Mo., resident had just split off from her party of five women -- all of them wearing the same T-shirt -- about 11:30 p.m. just outside Santa's Workshop inside the Quincy Mall. Each woman went their separate ways so they could make the most of their shopping time.
