Sawyer's Creek hosts first ever U.S. Mini Golf Tournament

HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM)-- If you're looking for a course to put your miniature golf skills to the test, you don't have to look any further than Sawyer's Creek in Hannibal.
The amusement park was recently accepted as a U.S. Pro Mini Golf Course and hosted its first ever tournament this weekend.
The event matched up professionals from around the country with amateurs to test their skills on the course.
Officials say the first time hosting the tournament has been a great experience.
"They are some guys who really take the game of miniature golf pretty seriously, but they have been a fun group of guys. They have really, we couldn't have asked for a better group for our first time doing this because they have definitely helped us through our first year," said Sawyer's Creek General Manager Jeanne Youngwirth.
A portion of the proceeds raised goes towards Leaps of Love, an organization that gives families of cancer survivors from the area financial support.
