What is going on with all the earth being moved by the Lock and Dam 21 in Quincy?

It's just mud dug out by the auxiliary gates, workers say. It's piled up and allowed to dry before being spread out, and it's considered part of routine maintenance at the Lock and Dam.

Is throwing a cigarette butt out a car window considered littering?

Yes. Littering is generally a misdemeanor or city ordinance violation, depending where it happens.

Who decides which movies come to Quincy?

AMC makes the decisions. The theaters are the AMC Showplace 6 on 33rd near Broadway and the AMC in the Quincy Mall. AMC is based in Atlanta.

I am researching a death from 1871 in Quincy. Where is Mound Cemetery? Is it in Indian Mounds Park?

Not to our knowledge. We are still trying to find out where the cemetery may have been located. It's possible it was confused with Woodland Cemetery, which is right next door across Jackson Street from Indian Mounds Park.

What was the name of the small candy store on South Eighth between Payson and Ohio Street back in the mid-1970s?
