The Demo Derby closed out the Adams County Fair on Wednesday night, which continues to be among the most popular grandstand events.

Herald-Whig Photographer Michael Kipley talked with three of the Demo Derby's participants to find out why they love to compete in the dirt-slinging, car-slamming event.

For some, like Jason Beckman of Quincy, it's a family tradition. He competes in memory of his dad, and he has support of his entire family

For all, it's the adrenaline rush and the fun that keeps bringing them back.
