Prospect League: Gems bust out offense in win at Springfield

The Quincy Gems pounded out 12 hits and rolled to a 10-3 victory at Springfield on Sunday night.

Zach George, David Kuhne, Drew Carlile, Nick Moore and Nick Day each had two hits. Moore hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning.

The Gems (34-25, 16-13 second half) play at Hannibal at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the season finale.

The Cavemen rallied rallied Sunday at Terre Haute but still lost 9-7. Taylor Kaufman and Ian Sikes each had three hits for Hannibal (30-29, 14-15), and Zach Nichols drove in three runs.
