CARTHAGE, Ill. -- Several people were injured around 9:30 p.m. Friday when they were apparently hit by a minivan in the Illini West High School parking lot after the season-opening football game between Illini West and Pittsfield/Griggsville-Perry.

Air Evac landed a helicopter on the football field and transported at least one person to a local hospital, while ambulance crews were on the scene to assist others who were injured. WGEM.com reported nine people were injured.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Department said crews were at the scene, but the department did not have any additional information available immediately available about the accident.
