College notebook: QU women's soccer player earns honor

For the second week in a row, a Quincy University women's soccer player has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week.

This time, senior forward Brittany Casey earned the honor after helping the Lady Hawks to a pair of road wins at Bellarmine and McKendree. Casey scored two goals, giving her a team-leading five goals on the season and tying her for second in goals in the GLVC.

Last week, QU midfielder Jaclyn Mastroianni was honored by the GLVC.

QU soccer teams up into top 10:
The Quincy University men's and women's soccer teams, both of which are undefeated, moved into the top 10 in their respective NCAA Division II national polls.

The Hawks (6-0) moved from No. 14 to No. 9 and are now ranked second in the Midwest rankings. Meanwhile, the Lady Hawks (6-0) moved from No. 19 to No. 10 and also are second in the Midwest rankings.
