The Quincy School Board on Wednesday night approved Demond Dade as Quincy High School's girls basketball coach.

Dade had been an assistant for former coach Greg Altmix, who resigned earlier this month after going 17-33 in two seasons. Dade's daughter, Araiya, is one of five starters expected to return to the team this season.

QHS is coming off a 10-14 season. The Blue Devils went 0-10 in Western Big Six Conference play and have lost 26 straight league games.
