Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Boren honeymooned in California after their marriage July 28 in First Christian Church in Pittsfield.

The bride is the former Miss Kayla Spangler of Pittsfield, daughter of Bob and Velynna Spangler of Ellisville. The bridegroom is a son of Michael and Julie Boren of Pittsfield.

The 3 p.m. ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Michael Ten Eyck and the Rev. Luke Justice; the bride was given in marriage by her parents. Music was provided by Paula Helle, Colleen Spangler, Elena Johnson, Sam Fahlberg, Renita Ten Eyck and Ryan Spangler.

Maid of honor was Jessica Locke. Bridesmaids were Laura Boren, Haley Spangler, Lindsey Hornbaker, Ruth Hulford, Alysia Cooley and Madeleine Young.

Best man was Zack Boren. Groomsmen were Braxton Boren, Matt Spangler, Adam Johnson, Dane Feenstra, Ray Syrcle and Drew Martin.

Ushers were Sam Fahlberg, Ryan Spangler, Gavin Halpin and Luke Justice.

Flower girl was Ellie Ten Eyck and ring bearer was Kyle Spangler.

A rehearsal dinner was held July 27 in Hamilton's in Jacksonville. A reception followed the ceremony in the Crossroads Center in Pittsfield.

The bride graduated from Cuba High School and Oakwood Homeschool Academy in 2006 and from Greenville College in 2010. She teaches K-2 music and Response to Intervention at South School in Pittsfield.

The bridegroom graduated from Pittsfield High School in 2006 and from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 2010. He teaches social studies at Pittsfield High School.
