Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden was the setting for the Sept. 1 wedding of Miss Melissa Luan Dittmer and Joseph Wayne Houston, both of Golden.
The bride is a daughter of Dennis and Beverly Dittmer of Liberty. The bridegroom is a son of Todd and LaDonna Houston of Golden.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents during the 4:30 p.m. ceremony conducted by the Rev. Jim Trutwin and the Rev. Barbara Ziah. Music was provided by Julie Bunge, cousin of the bride, pianist, and Steve Surratt, cousin of the bride, and Kristen Cassens, soloists. Reader was Sara Metzger, cousin of the bride.
Maid of honor was Jenna Dittmer of Plainville, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Brooke Klauser of Liberty; Carrie Holmes of Coralville, Iowa; Rebecca Varnes of Beverly, Mass., sister of the bridegroom; and Ashley Burton of Colorado Springs, Colo., sister of the bridegroom.
Best man was Michael John Houston, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Brian Heinecke of Mount Sterling; Ryan Houston of Destin, Fla., cousin of the bridegroom; and Justin Cassens and Michael Flesner, both of Camp Point.
Ushers were Adam Jenkins of Plainville and Nick Keyes of Dallas, cousin of the bridegroom.
The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 31 at the Pier Restaurant in Quincy. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Golden Windmill Hall.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Liberty High School and a 2005 graduate of Culver-Stockton College. She is a customer development representative for Dot Foods.
The bridegroom is a 2002 graduate of Central High School and a 2004 graduate of Spoon River College. He is a self-employed farmer with Houston Family Farms.
