Dennis and Marcia Barry

Dennis and Marcia Barry of 2111 N. 900th Ave., Liberty, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and close friends Friday at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Monte Brink of Liberty, who hosted the event.

Mr. Barry and the former Marcia Venvertloh were married Oct. 28, 1972, in St. John Catholic Church in Quincy.

Mrs. Barry is a daughter of the late George and Bernadine Venvertloh. Mr. Barry is a son of the late Virgil and Francis Barry.

They are the parents of Kirk (Chris) Barry of Quincy, Kory (Caron) Barry of Camp Point, Kristen (Monte) Brink of Liberty and Kaylan (Ben) Drebes of Murrayville. They have four grandchildren.

Mr. Barry is employed by Quincy Compressor and is a full-time farmer.

Mrs. Barry is a homemaker.

They are members of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty and enjoy spending time with their family and grandchildren.

Tony Baker recently watched a video of the 1991 Class A state championship game with his 11-year-old daughter. It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
