Mr. and Mrs. Robert Irvine of Rockport celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday in the Nazarene Church Family Center in Pittsfield.
Robert "Bob" and Genevieve Irvine were married Nov. 2, 1952, at her parents' home in Hull.
They are the parents of Steve and Diana Irvine of Washington state, Vicki and Jody Grammer of New Canton, Susan and Kenneth Harrison of Rockport, and the late Linda Ford and her husband, Larry Ford, of Roodhouse. They have 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Irvine worked for Zimmerman's Bakery and the Gamble Store, both in Hannibal, Mo., and later retired from the Hercules and Dyno plants in Louisiana, Mo., in 1991.
Mrs. Irvine was an assistant secretary for the Board of Education in Hannibal and later was a stay-at-home mom. She also spent many years as a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed giving each child a personalized stocking at Christmas.
They were both active members in the Cory League Baseball and Cub Scouts for Troop 155. Mr. Irvine was a Cub Master for three years for Troop 155, while Mrs. Irvine was active with the Girl Scouts.
They are active members of the Nazarene Church in Pittsfield.
The couple met at Hannibal High School.
