The Historic Quincy Business District is seeking nominations for its Business of the Year Award to recognize a downtown business for exceptional service, quality products and overall atmosphere. The award will be presented at the annual dinner in early 2013.

"We want to hear from the customers," says HQBD Executive Director Travis Brown.

"This award is designed to highlight the best of the best, and we want input from those who shop and work downtown on a regular basis."

Last year, about 50 nominations were turned in, and agency leaders want to more than double that this year.

Nomination forms are available at the district's website at www.downtownquincy.com or by stopping into the HQBD Office at 128 N. Fifth St. Nominations need to be received by Dec. 28. Previous award recipients are Celia's Gifts & More at 115 N. Fourth, Jeanne's Shoppe at 106 N. Sixth and Expressions by Christine at 711 Maine.

The Historic Quincy Business district is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting, revitalizing and preserving Quincy's Historic Business District through broad-based community support, including both public and private partnerships. The district extends from Front Street to 12th Street, and Broadway to State streets.
