Quincy (0-0) at Northwest Missouri State (0-0)
6 p.m. Friday, Bearcat Arena, Maryville, Mo.

Scouting the Bearcats: Northwest returns four players who started at least a dozen games for last season's 6-22 team. Maggie Marnin, a 6-foot-3 sophomore forward, is the leading returner after averaging 7 points and 6.4 rebounds. The Bearcats averaged 60.4 points per game last season on 33.8 percent shooting.

Mark Kellogg is in his first season coaching Northwest. He previously spent seven seasons coaching coaching at Fort Lewis College.

The Bearcats were ranked 14th in a preseason poll for the now 15-team MIAA.

A little momentum: The Bearcats opened their exhibition slate with a 80-33 loss to Iowa State before beating NAIA's Peru State 91-72 on Saturday. QU lost a pair of exhibition games but played better in the second one, an 86-51 loss Sunday at Iowa.

Starting strong: The Lady Hawks have won four straight season openers since an 87-82 loss to Ferris State on Nov. 16, 2007.
