The Avenue of Lights has announced details for the Avenue Advantage Program for the 2012 season. Area civic, school, church and community organizations are given the opportunity to earn cash for staffing the Avenue of Lights.

Avenue of Lights organizers have expanded the Advantage Program to encompass the full run of the event, and would like each organization to submit three possible dates. Organizers will confirm with the volunteer group based on date availability on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each club or organization must provide six adult volunteers on their designated night, provide a firm commitment prior to submitting request. A brief training session will be held prior to opening on their designated night.

Organizations wishing to participate should contact the Chamber office and ask for Mary at 222-7980, or by emailing

The Avenue of Lights, now in it's 14th year, will be open nightly from 6 to 9:30 from Thanksgiving through New Yea'r Day. It will feature more than 100 holiday displays in Moorman and Wavering parks.
