Quincy telemarketing firm PCCW Teleservices announced Friday it will be closing its operations at 1400 N. 30th on or about Jan. 30.

The closing of the facility will affect 139 employees.

PCCW has operated a center in Quincy since 2005. The U.S. headquarters of the Hong Kong-based company is in Dublin, Ohio.

"Displacing employees is never an easy decision," said Tina Myles, vice president of human resources. "We are truly grateful to those employees that have served us over the years and to the town of Quincy and the surrounding communities for their support.

"We are taking every step to minimize the impact to these employees and to assist them in their transition."

Employees were provided a 60-day advance notice, according to PCCW officials, who said they are working with other companies and Illinois Workforce management to assist those impacted with finding new employment opportunities.
