Three injured in Shelby County rollover accident Saturday morning

CLARENCE, Mo. -- Three teenagers were injured following a single-vehicle accident at 4:15 a.m. Saturday seven miles north of Clarence, Mo.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 1997 Jeep Cherokee driven by Joshua L. Miles, 17, of Shelbina, Mo., was heading west on Route K at Mo. 151 when it failed to stop at a stop sign, crossed the road and struck an embankment. The vehicle overturned coming to a rest on its passenger side.

Passenger Austin L. Martin, 17, of Clarence, was transported by Air Evac to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries.

Miles and passenger Luke C. Pantaleo, 17, of Clarence, were treated for injuries and released at the scene by Salt River Ambulance.

Assisting were the Shelby County Sheriff's Department and Shelbyville Fire and Rescue.
