David and Chris Greving

Former Quincyans David and Chris Greving of Morton are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary with a brunch with their children today at Weaver Ridge in Peoria.

The couple was married Nov. 18, 1972, in Salem Evangelical Church.

Mrs. Greving is the former Chris Drebes, daughter of Roberta Drebes of Quincy and the late Harvey Drebes. Mr. Greving is a son of the late Melvin Greving and the late Maxine Greving, and a stepson of Joanne Greving of Quincy.

They are the parents of Derek and Holly Greving of Morton and Matthew Greving of Washington, Ill. They have one grandchild.

Mr. Greving retired from Caterpillar in 2009. He is a member of the Morton Knights of Columbus and Central Illinois Cruisers Car Club, coordinates the area-wide Knights of Columbus quarterly collections of household goods which supports the Father Beiting Appalachia Mission Program in Kentucky, is a volunteer driver every Monday for the Peoria Midwest Food Bank and a volunteer every Friday at the soup kitchen for Sisters of Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity. He also enjoys showing a '62 Impala at car shows.

Mrs. Greving retired from Caterpillar in 2011. She is a volunteer with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for Peoria and Tazewell counties and enjoys gardening and crocheting.

The Grevings lived in Quincy until 1986. They are members of Blessed Sacrament Church in Morton and enjoy traveling.
