Quincy man shot on North Seventh early Wednesday

A 38-year-old Quincy man was shot about 12:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of North Seventh. The assailant fled on foot.

The victim who sustained a gunshot wound in the leg was taken to Blessing Hospital where he was treated and released, according to the Quincy Police Department spokesman.

The shooting occurred after two men had been in an altercation in the 500 block of North Seventh, according to the victim. The suspect is described as a white male in is late 20s or early 30s with a bald head and goatee and wearing all black clothing.

The incident remains under investigation.
