Scouting the Griffons: Missouri Western is led by Heather Howard, a 6-foot-3 senior forward who averages 14.7 points and 11.2 rebounds per game. She has five double-doubles this season. Lanicia Lawrence (9.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg) and JaQuitta Dever (9.3 ppg) have given Howard ample support.
Missouri Western is surrendering only 58.7 points per game and has limited opponents to 37.8 percent shooting from the field. The Griffons have beaten Division I Missouri-Kansas City and Metro State, then-ranked No. 7 in Division II.
Unfavorable trend: This is the fourth opponent from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association that QU will have faced this season. The Lady Hawks are 0-3 against MIAA schools and have been outscored 202-164. Included in that was a 75-62 loss to Lincoln, which Missouri Western defeated 65-57 its last time out.
