Graci Bastert hit four free throws in the final minute to send the Illini West girls basketball team to a 55-46 victory over Unity Tuesday night.
It was the first victory of the season for Illini West (1-5) and the first loss for the Lady Mustangs (3-1).
A 15-9 run by Illini West in the third quarter broke open a 23-21 Charger lead.
Michaela Gronewold led Illini West with 14 points. Bastert and Elyce Trout added 12 apiece for the Chargers (1-5). Brooklyn Moore scored 18 points and Breanne Begeman added 11 for Unity.
Clark County 53, Schuyler County 39: A 30-point first half led to an 11-point halftime lead and the Indians (1-1) never looked back in a victory at the Putnam County Tournament.
Mishaylee Cline and Brittani Miller scored 12 points apiece to lead the Indians. Miller also grabbed eight rebounds.
Kayley Roberts pulled down 10 rebounds and scored seven points for Clark County.
Liberty-Payson 53, Central-Southeastern 30: Maranda Neisen scored 11 of her game-high 16 points in the second half to lead the Eagles to the victory.
Madelyn Hyer added 10 points for the Eagles (5-1). Kara Twaddell led the Suns (1-2) with 14 points, including four 3-pointers.
Monroe City 59, Canton 20: The Panthers rode a 24-point first quarter to the road victory.
Monroe City limited Canton (0-2) to just five points in the first, third and fourth quarters and gave up six in the second.
The Panthers (1-0) built a 42-11 halftime lead. Carly Spalding led Monroe City with 20 points and Kiette Mundy added 15.
Allison Phillips paced Canton (0-2) with eight points.
Paris 52, Knox County 40: The Eagles couldn't overcome a 27-point effort from Paris senior Payton Gruber.
After taking a 10-6 lead after the first quarter, Knox County was held to six and eight points, respectively, in the second and third quarters.
Sarah Dooley led the Eagles (0-1) with 11 points.
Louisiana 46, Griggsville-Perry 29: Denise and Batrice Blackwell combined for 28 points to lead the Bulldogs (1-0) to victory.
Denise Blackwell led Louisiana with 18 points.
"We got offensive rebounds and missed some putbacks," Louisiana coach Craig Pederson said. "That's something to work on. We're young and we're going to make mistakes."
Rachel Smith led the Tornadoes (0-4) with nine points.
Community R-VI 34, Mark Twain 27: The Lady Tigers fell behind 17-7 after the first half and couldn't dig out of the hole as they lost at home.
Mark Twain (1-1) put together a rally in the fourth quarter, outscoring its opponent 12-8.
Mackenzie Grossmann and Kayla Palmer scored eight points apiece to lead Mark Twain. Kyle Barnes grabbed four rebounds.
Carrollton 31, Pittsfield 28: Carrollton rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to beat the host Saukees.
Alyssa Heavner led Pittsfield (1-4) with 10 points.
