The Adams County Treasurer's Office will accept real estate property tax prepayments starting Monday through Dec. 31 for taxes payable in 2013.

Taxpayers may prepay taxes up to the whole dollar amount of the previous tax bill. If paying for multiple properties, parcel numbers and the amount paid for each parcel need to be included.

The office will accept prepayments in-person or by mail. If paying in-person, enter the Adams County Courthouse, 507 Vermont, through the Fifth Street entrance. Prepayments sent by mail must be postmarked on or before Dec. 31.

The treasurer's office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays but will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
