When I was a kid, I wanted to be ... vocational agriculture teacher because my teacher, Chester Knight, was my hero.

What would you rather be doing right now? International travel.

Shhhh! Don't tell anyone that ... I love long and interesting discussions with bright people.

Other than your wedding and the birth of your children, what was your proudest moment? Receiving the Top Editorial Award in 1988 from the National Association of Sales Training Executives.

It really stinks when ... people don't appreciate all the benefits of living in the United States. International travel is required to truly appreciate how good we have it in the USA.

What word in the dictionary would your face be next to? Determined.

I always laugh when ... I hear small children state profound truths.

Invite any three people, living or dead, to dinner. Who are they? Teddy Roosevelt because of his vision of the U.S. park system, Ben Franklin because of his vision of America, and Gandhi because of his vision of world peace.

At the end of a really long day at work, I like to ... read books written 100 years ago.

People who knew me in high school thought I was ... competitive.

My most unforgettable brush with greatness was with ... a bear hunter from Spanish Fork, Utah, in a Siberian airport -- I knew many of his neighbors.

I would drop all my plans tonight if I had the chance to ... spend the evening with my five grandkids.

If someone gave me a million dollars, there is STILL no way I would ... quit feeding cattle. It's too addictive.

America should be more concerned about ... what we are doing to our environment. Colonists were wrong to think the American forests, buffalo and passenger pigeons were inexhaustible, and now we're equally wrong to feel that our water and air supply is inexhaustible. Secondly, we are slowly drowning under the weight of entitled attitudes.

I'm OK if there's ever a national shortage of ... street rods.

When I'm on the Internet, I always go to ... check the weather so I can plan outside work and cattle futures for planning cattle feeding.

What is the most useful piece of advice you have ever received? "Life is a mystery to live, not a problem to solve," by Richard Forrestal, a drug company rep. Helped me to better live in the present.

When I'm cruising down the road, I'm likely listening to ... satellite radio.

I always get sentimental when ... I visit a children's hospital.

The older I get, the more I realize ... the tremendous value of solid friendships.

If I had one "do-over," I would ... have purchased more land.

My favorite item of clothing is ... a very comfortable jacket provided by Adams Electric.

If I've learned anything at all ... 50 years of marriage can be remarkably rewarding.
