Frankford, Mo., driver injured in accident on U.S. 61

NEW LONDON, Mo. -- A Frankford driver was seriously injured at 6:30 p.m. Monday in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 61 at Route A near New London.

Steven W. Yager, 47, was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.

Yager was driving a 2007 Toyota Camry west on Route A and attempted to turn onto U.S. 61 and was struck by an northbound 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Aimie L. Essig, 31, of Hannibal, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Assisting were the Ralls County Sheriff's Department and both the New London Fire and Police Departments.
