Police arrest juvenile sought in stabbing incident, gun and narcotics found in vehicle search

A juvenile who has been sought on several warrants since a Nov. 11 stabbing was arrested by Quincy police on Tuesday afternoon and a few more charges were added after the search of a vehicle.

According to police reports, a Crimestoppers tipster reported that a 16-year-old juvenile who was wanted on several warrants including aggravated battery was at a local business. Law enforcement set up surveillance and saw the juvenile enter a car as a passenger. Quincy police officers stopped the car along North 36th Street south of Locust and it pulled into the Quincy post office parking lot.

The juvenile was taken into custody and a .22 caliber handgun and narcotics were recovered during the arrest.

The juvenile was lodged in the Adams County Juvenile Detention Center for the outstanding warrants as well as new charges of unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.
