Last day for yard waste pickup in Quincy is Dec. 21

The last day for curbside pickup of yard waste in Quincy will be Friday, Dec. 21. It was earlier reported that today would be the final day.

The Quincy brush site at 711 W. Radio Road will still be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week for people who want to dispose of yard waste after the curbside pickup program ends. However, the site will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 for the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

Tony Baker recently watched a video of the 1991 Class A state championship game with his 11-year-old daughter. It had been several years since Baker, an all-stater as a senior at Pittsfield High School, had seen the game. "I sure was awful skinny, and those shorts were awful short," he said with a laugh. "But it was neat to watch. It's kind of a blur, but I can remember plays that were called in every game. It's so surreal."
