Holiday events coming up at Quincy Public Library

The Quincy Public Library will host several holiday events for children next week.

"Cookies and Cocoa With Santa," for children of all ages, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20. Kids will make a holiday-themed craft and snack on cookies and cocoa. They also can visit with Santa.

The evening is co-sponsored by the Historic Quincy Business District.

The Holly Jolly Christmas Party sessions for toddlers and pre-schoolers will be at 10 and 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21. The party will feature traditional holiday stories with a twist and songs. Santa will be making an appearance at the party.

Programs at Quincy Public Library are free. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling 223-1309 or visiting quincylibrary.org.

Cooper, a golden doodle, is teacher Erin Armbruster's trained therapy dog, and his pawprints reach beyond just her classroom. "He helps out the students. He's a very good dog," fifth-grader Myles Cain said.
