Griggsville man injured in crash near Pittsfield airport

PITTSFIELD, Ill. -- A 72-year-old Griggsville man suffred minor injuries in a car accident at 12:37 p.m. Thursday near the Pittsfield-Penstone Airport.

The Illinois State Police reported that James W. Wright was heading east on U.S. 54 in a 2010 Chevrolet sports utility vehicle when he lost control in the heavy snow and slush on the road and struck a guardrail.

Wright was taken to Illini Community Hospital by Pike County Ambulance.
